25 July 2022 AM: As the stones of Locus 8 had been removed last week in its southern half and the deposit beneath begun to produce increased inclusions of plaster, pottery, and bone, Locus 8 was closed in its entirety and the deposit beneath the stones in the southern half was opened as Locus 10. Closing photos and elevations were taken of Locus 8. Elevations (Locus 8 closing): NW: 26.97m AE 173E/56S NE: 27.09m AE 174E/56S SE: 26.83m AE 174E/60S SW: 26.85m AE 173E/60S Locus 10 was opened as a rectangular 1m x 1.65m deposit of medium brown compact clay with frequent inclusions of tile, plaster, pottery, and bone. Opening photos and elevations were taken of Locus 10: NW: 26.85m AE 173E/58.35S NE: 26.83m AE 174E/58.35S SE: 26.90m AE 174E/60S SW: 26.80m AE 173E/60S Munsell: 10YR 6/2 light brownish gray Excavation began in Locus 10 with a pick pass. The soil was hand sorted into buckets. There were inclusions of tile, plaster, pottery, and bone. Bronze slag was also recovered. PM: The afternoon began with a pick pass in Locus 10. Soil remained consistent with the morning as well as inclusions, which were made up of tile, pottery, plaster, plaster with reed impressions, and bone. A fragment of slipped fine ware was recovered and recorded as special find 69.
