Excavation continued towards the east in the middle of trench 2D, limited by a concentration
of stones which extend 3.50 m from the north along the west side and 3.90 m along the east side.
The following fragments were found:
A cat's head with eyes, ears, and left side preserved was found at 1.70 m depth, 1.25 m from the east wall and 4.85 m from the south (Find #2).
A few pieces of cornice.
The left half of a well-preserved gorgon head, found at 1.67 m depth, 0.75 m from the east wall and 4.80 m from the south (Find #3).
A piece of procession frieze, with the cornice and one human head preserved.
A piece of lateral sima with the cornice preserved.
Sherds, among which was a fragment of pottery with the handle attached.
A few small pieces of friezes.
Another piece of cornice and lateral sima.
A woman's head, fairly complete but badly preserved, found at 1.55 m depth, 0.50 m from the east wall and 4.62 m from the south (Find #4).
The base of a proto-bucchero vase.
Another piece of pottery with the handle attached, similar to the one found in the morning.
A fragment of heavy pottery with a rope-like pattern in relief.
A large bone, resembling a
human fibia, appeared in the east wall at the south end of the aforementioned concentration of stones at a depth of 1.57 m. It was left in situ overnight to dry.
