STRATEGY: Take 2cm spit from 446N, 596E-446N, 598E to 451N, 596E-451N, 597E.

SUMMARY: The final areas of lot 876 were removed. 878 was gradually removed across the westernmost part of the trench using small picks and trowels. A plaster edge may be showing above stone wall f250, which may relate to a tauf/pise/plaster superstructure (see sketch from 26 Jul 97). A small area of 878 needs to be removed and the surface below brushed clean before further interpretation can be made. 878 contains patches of burnt reddish tauf plaster and a few flecks of charcoal.
