STRATEGY: To clean and remove the plastic sheeting from the trench. Then investigate the relationship between the large stones in the west of the trench in f235 and those in the south of the trench f250 with the pise building. We aimed to do this by putting a section through these areas.

SUMMARY: With lot 885 we sectioned wall f242 to see how the stones f250 relate to the stones f251 and those seemingly floating that disappear to the south on last year's plan. This was successful as f250 is firmly attached to f251 giving a right angle and those stones above it appear to be totally unrelated. Bronwen and Amanda then tackled the area around f235, again to see the relation between the pise building and the large stones in f235. In the process we removed part of f241 and f240 as shown on the sketch. There has been no result as yet except it appears that the walls surrounding the main room of the building f239(?) end and abut each other, indicating that the ajoining cells and walls were added later. This will continue tomorrow.
