The initial cut was continued through meters E187-88/S53-54.  The center of the rise along the North-South axis contained a lens of ash, indicating a modern fire pit.  The brown soil maintained the Locus 1 designation.  Depths were recorded at approximately 15-20 cm bd.  In this work, the bottom of the cassetta, 27 cm x 46 cm, was filled with well-worn terracotta fragments.  In addition, 30 fragments of impasto and 1 bucchero fragment as well as 16 pieces of worn plaster were unearthed.
