Description Locus 9 was an associated sounding situated 2m north of VT11. It was 1m x 3m. The sounding was established in order to determine if any other materials were present outside of the ditch associated with the linear stone feature. The sounding was excavated to a depth of 60cm, the fill associated with the construction of the tennis court was removed, and below it was a yellow-grey, wholly sterile soil. No materials were recovered save for 1/20th bowl of tile from the construction fill of the tennis court.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
