Description Locus 4 is the area that was underneath the large stump that was removed. This area is being treated as a separate area because material associated with the stump is most likely bioturbated and out of context. The soil associated with locus 4 is a dark brown claylike soil with grey patches which has very little material associated with it. The are a few small stones and many roots associated with this locus.
