Description Locus 1 is a dark-brown organic rich humus layer with lots of rocks and organics. There are several small stumps in the locus, a medium stump on the western baulk, and a large stump along the northern baulk. There were many surface rocks that were drawn and then removed. Very little terracotta was recovered, the pieces that were came from the southern meters, which are down slope, and were very worn and abraded. Locus 1 in CB 54 is equal to Locus 1 in CB 52, 53, 55, 56, and 57.
