Descriptive Variable Value(s)
Hodder Level Designation(s) TRENCH 1.CHALCOLITHIC
Recording Fully recorded
Year 2003
Description Flot. #2, >4mm, 100%, fully analysed. This unit has no dry sieve. The entire 30 L was sent to flotation. It is the top layer of a possible midden within a building fill. The flot sample is medium brown with 5-10% low temperature burning - almost all of which are fragments less than 1 cm. There are no digested fragments and no trample polish. Edges are sharp and weathering is even. The fragment size is small with even the diagnostics rarely being more than a few centimetres. The only fragments larger then 4 cm are two very white bones. Taphonomically the unit is not very distinct from the fill, although it is slightly darker and more burn and perhaps (?) denser. The diagnostics are all sheep goat including some long bone fragments among the teeth and feet. Last Number = F.28
