Object Type Vessel
Vessel Form Bowl
Fragment Noted false
Object Type (notes) Shallow Bowl on a Conical Foot
Size Max. Pres. Height 0.070 m, Max. Pres. Diameter at outside of rim 0.166 m, Max. Pres. Diameter of Foot 0.087 m, Average Pres. Thickness of walls 0.007 m
Condition Nearly complete except for approximately one-quarter of base and small sections of side walls and rim, joined from numerous fragments. Burned surface worn away on most of the vase.
Description A shallow bowl resting on a low, conical foot. The side walls extend outward from the base of the bowl in a gentle curve to meet a slightly everted curving rim. The base of the interior is marked in the center with a small, circular groove, the juncture of the side walls to the base is undefined, while the intersection of the side walls to the rim is accentuated on both the exterior surfaces by a wide, shallow groove.
Fabric Description A very fine clay free of impurities, of an orange color; original surface now completely dissapated. Probably this is badly burned bucchero.
