Project name Phase I Survey of Portions of the HNF, Perry and Orange Counties, IN
Surface exploration methods The exploration of the cave proceeded with flashlights and head lamps. Approximately 76 m (250 ft) of the main passage was explored. Surface visibility in the cave was 100 percent. The exploration had to be abandoned because of the tight squeeze through a wet stream area that would have been needed to move beyond this depth. The side passage, which is assumed to be beyond the point of at which the team stopped, also could not be explored. The recordation of the historic graffiti was the only documentation possible.
