Description Locus 1 consisted of a dark brown/gray soil. The soil was very dry and brittle from being baked in the sun. Much organic material was present within this locus, namely superficial plants/weeds and roots; Locus 1 was the humous layer. Very little material was uncovered from this locus (18 sherds of pottery or 5.6% of the total 319 sherds discovered in CB-46). Additionally this locus is very shallow, with a maximum depth of 10cm. As topsoil, the material uncovered offers no contextual information. Locus 1 was conflated with Locus 4 and Locus 5.
