Description | While excavating in Locus 2 a small crevice was uncovered in the packing of rock found there. It was decided to then create Locus 4, an extension of the northern portion of the trench by a meter, in order to clearly expose the surface bedrock found there and to attempt to capture as much of the rock packing as possible before excavating the rocks where the crevice was found. 10 pieces of pottery, 16.40%, were found in Locus 4 which is a brown, root-filled hummus layer that is contextually similar to Locus 1 soil. The large piece of bedrock in Locus 4 was also mapped, by taking points and elevations on portions of it. |

Editorial Note | Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods. The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets. |
