Description | Very oddly shaped hollowed out block of limestone finished and decorated with cross in relief on 2 sides. One side rounded and unfinished on exterior, one side flat and unfinished. Lip around opening may be to support lid so possibly an ostothek. Two channels cut into lip and hole piercing wall of rounded end may be secondary. Located in courtyard of house, next to F1558. Owner says it came from a field near the cemetery. |
