Munsell Color 10YR 4/3 Brown with 10YR6/6 brownish yellow mottling
Description Locus 2 consists of a claylike soil that is brown with some brownish yellow mottling. The soil is still full of roots and organic debris from the stump system in the trench. There is a large amount of pottery and terracotta in this locus. There are still a number of small stones apprearing thoughout the locus. Due to the relatively large amount of medieval pottery recovered (including 20110014) in this locus it is clear that this strata is not contextually ancient. A possible forno fragment was also recovered from this layer (20110013).
