Title Human Head, Lateral Sima Attachment
Primary photo False
Photo Type Artifact Illustration
Photo ID 22656
Album ID 0
Description A lateral sima attachment in the form of a molded head. It was located on the right side of the sima, the left side of the head was attached directly to the sima front, while the right half extended beyond the edge of the adjacent sima. This is reflected on the back surface--the right side shows attachment scar, while the left portion is smooth and slightly concave. The head itself is partly preserved, broken above the level of the eyes. No ears are visible beneath the hair which flanks the face. Almond-shaped eyes are recessed, while the cheeks are in low relief. The chin juts out and the lips of the mouth protrude, being formed by two ridges of clay.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
