|Title||Statue Head Fragment, Ear and Cap|
|Photo Type||Cataloged Artifact|
|Description||Fragment preserves left ear and part of adjoining back of head, apparently covered with a sort of heavy cap or helmet; area just behind ear is abraded, preserving only part of a deep, smooth groove which delineates the lower left edge of the headgear; top portion preserved has a rounded lower edge with one ridge, presumably left from the molding process, on its bottom side; below this, approx. 0.004-0.008 m. lower than the surface of the top region, is the bottom section, a relatively flat piece slanting outward; this section has a left side edge which is flattened and widens out toward the lower, broken edge of the piece. The attached ear is large and shows traces of considerable modeling in the rendering of full anatomical details. Interior of the piece is concave and rough.|

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.
The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
