Tesoro 5E

Digging was continued around the outside of the walls.  The stones in the northern half of the trench were sketched in (see plan, opposite page) and lifting begun.  Around the edges of them in D8, several more joining groups of horse race frieze were found.  A piece of banquet frieze was also found in J2.

In L8, near the eastern wall of the small building, seven or eight curved fragments of a statue were found; they later fit together to form the side of a head with simple

applique curls on it.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
