Work started picking in the southeast corner moving east to west to even the corner to the rest of the trench.

Now that the yellowish clay-like soil is consistent throughout the entire trench, Locus 6 will be declared in the second extension. The soil is still filled with roots and organic material. Aerial and opening photos were taken as well as opening elevations.

NW: 105 cm BD / 26.92 m AE

62.20 E, 41.20 S: 101 cm BD / 26.96 m AE

62.80 E, 41.90 S: 114 cm BD / 26.83 m AE

SE: 116 cm BD / 26.81 m AE

Work was focused on removing the stump in the northeast corner using handpicks, big picks and an axe.

Locus 6 Trench Layout:


Work continued around the stump in the northeast corner so the possible line of rocks in CA-79 can be revealed if it does extend into CA-81's second extension. Work was also focused on the baulk walls in the southwest corner.
