We cleared backfill from South Flank extension in preparation for digging a trench at meters 28-29.55, 267-269 E.
This fill will be designated at locus 1. (Note: Artifacts in locus 1 indicated that it was not a backfill.) A first cut was taken down to a hard-packed layer that may represent the archaic floor levels which was uncovered in the 1969 season. (Locus 2) Elevations were 1.01 m below datum-1.03 m at the south eastern edge. This layer seems to preserve a steep slope in this area and more elevations will be taken when more of the trench has been cleared down to it. Photographs were taken in the morning. A datum point was assigned. Its location will be determined later.

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.
The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
