fragments in grid A2 was very heavy, with at least two pithos standing in situ. These fragments were lifted in order to free the foundations of the crosswall between R6 and 7 and also to expose the bronze cauldron which was first noticed when the upper layers of str. D were excavated.

The small finds (ivory + bucchero) continue right through str. D and are found even below the pithos.

In grid F3, amoung the vase fragments we found a concentration of what seemed to be dried nuts or grain. These were gathereed for future analysis.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
