Dense brush and foilage are cleared from area in prepartion of establishing a trench. A line is then shot from the established mater grid coordinate of E150/S22 to base line for confirmation. THe station is then turn 90\xb0 and a point is established at E 126/S22. The trench is then triangulated from this point. A datum point is established within meters E126/S25 within the walls of the upper building. This datum is set at 45cm above the surface level.
An uneven rise is noted on the ground before excavation begins. This rise is predonimnantly located within meters E124/S21-24. Several stumps are visible on the surface of the rise. Depths are taken throughout the rise that range from 28-34 cm bd (17-11cm above surface level), with generally
higher depths being recorded in meters E124/S21-22.
The area is cleared of remaining brush for the rest of the morning.
A pickpass is taken through meters E124/S21 in the ridged area noted earlier. Multiple stumps and root structures make the topsoil dense and difficult to work through. A second pickpass is then teakn through meters E124/S22. The topsoil of this ridge is desginated as Locus 1 and yields relatively little material. At the conclusion of these two pickpasses about 20 small pieces of terra cotta, 5 medium sized tile fragments, and 2 fragments of impasto have been removed. No finds are designated. With the exception of 2 impasto shards, all materials are discarded at the site.

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.
The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
