Daily Log

July 19, 1994

Work is now completed removing the tile from the area of concentration in D/71-72.  The tiles appear to rest on top of a fine stratum of heavily carbon-included soil which then gives way to a sterile yellow stratum.

Roughly 5 large cassetti of tile fragments and occasional fragments of pithos were removed from within this concentration.  Pottery was very sporadic and no metal of any kind was found in this area.  Numerous pieces of plaster, many with unusual finished edges which were taken to the magazino, were found.

This area of the trench has been thoroughly cleaned and will be photographed for documentation.

No further work will be done in T-27 this year.
