Metal analysis:
Twenty-nine pieces of metal were found in excavation of CA 64 during the 2010 season. A majority of these pieces, twenty-four, were slag, and mostly from Locus 2 . They are a good indication for metal working in the surrounding area. Four fragments of bronze were recovered, including 20100004 , 20100008 , and 20100048 . None preserve enough of the original artifact to tell what type of object they would have come from. One fragment of iron was recovered, though it appears to be modern and may have come from previous excavation activity, backfill, or another such disturbance.

Editorial Note | Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods. The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets. |
