Continued yesterday's cut in H-I/45 into H-I/44, at an approximate depth of 150cm. Soil was yellow-brown clay-like soil, which was totally devoid of any material. work was discontinued in this area in order to scrape the baulk in I/42-45, so that the section can be drawn. From this came 1/2 latte of pottery and bone, 1/3 cassetta of tile and plaster fragments, and a few small flakes of bronze. Also found was a bronze tack (#2), which was in the reddish burn layer.
work continued in H-I/46, along the stone line, producing less than 12 fragments of pottery and bone, and 12-15 fragments of tile and plaster.
the baulks were scarpped and the floor leveled in H-I/48-46. 1/8 latte box of pottery and bone fragments and 20-30 small fragments of tile and plaster fragments were removed.
A cut was made in H-I/50-52, lowering the area to approximately 150cm. the soil was medium-dark brown with inclusions of carbon, abover yellow-brown clay-like soil. 2/3 latte box of pottery and bone, and 1 full cassetta of tile and plaster (some with reed impressions) fragments were excavated. Also frome this area were a crucible
fragment (#3) and an impasto rim fragment (#4). A large bone (#1) was removed from the west baulk of H/42 in order to discover if it had been work. It was drawn in the section of the baulk.
