The stumps in meters II-9,10,II-11 were removed and the stump removed yesterday afternoon was cleaned down. The stumps removed this morning were also cleaned down but no finds were yielded.
Cut number 4 was begun in meters EE, FF-9. This cut takes the floor level to 80cm, and the soil was shoveled and inspected in the wheelbarrow. Larges amounts of tile are still being encountered at 80cm, and the soil was shoveled and inspected in the wheelbarrow. Large amounts of tile are still being encountered at 60-80cm as well as carbonized wood fragments. The soil remains brownish red, but not as red as the previous cut.

The 80cm cut was completed in FF-9 and into GG-9. A large pithos rim was found in FF-9/GG-9 border which runs into FF-10. In addition, the soil around the stump in II-9 was removed in the initial efforts to extract this stump
