The tile fall continued to be lifted in G-K/88-92. As before the stratigraphy remained the same. A black burn layer was found underneath a tile and plaster layer. In some areas, particularly in G-H/89-90 and visible in the north portion of the tile fall a browny grey soil underlay the black burn.
In JK/87 a small area whcih had been left at a height of about 45 cm was lowered down to the rock fill level of 70-75 cm to remove a large fragment of pantile and a covertile width which showed blackening. In H-J/89-92 the fall continued to be excavated down with the rock fill layer. In H-I there remained about 10-20 cm of burned and brown-grey soil beneath the excavated tiles which will be removed down to the rockfill layer if time permits. A number of tiles with widths, marks and letters were found this morning – see finds. Very little ceramic and bone was found.
Additionally more clearing around the area where the probably column bae in PQ/92-93. Very little evidence of the base was found but a small fragments of what may
be some sort of matal ore and a covertile with a possible letter fragments preserved. Neither were found on the floor.

P.M.
The tile dall continued to be lifted and the area cleared down. Little material exceopt for tile was found.
Note: There was some discrepancy in page numbering between p. 37 and this page. I continued to use the standard system of skipping pages but numbering them all. his this page is 53.
The final clearing of the tile fall in G-L/87-92 took place. Almost no material outside of tile, plaster (2 cassette) and a box of bone was removed.
