A second cut was begun in meter B/7. Work was slow due to the roots from the large stump in B/6. These roots held pottery and several tile fragments. Some of the tile fragments join. A second cut was also begun in meter A/10. This meter also yielded coarse pottery and tile fragments. The only find for the morning was an iron nail from B/7 that appears to be modern.

The photographer came and took pictures of the rock pack in meters A/5-7. There are large rocks here with tile and pottery fragments both above and between them. The rocks will be cleaned down and removed to see what is below them.

The second cut in meter A/10 was completed and a stump in the eastern side close to the baulk was removed. Two pantiles with incised designs were found in the southern baulk. Cleaning down continued in the stump in meter B/7 and a small fragment of frieze plaque was found. This area also contained a lump of slag. One cassette of tile and one latte box of pottery came from each meter.
