T1 AL The trench was cleaned and the following sections were identified, from east to west: A few scattered stones and tiles in grid K-L, 1-2 which continued as a layer of tiles and stones
towards the south, starting at 1-70m facing N, covering the equivalent grid in T1 AK. West of that the \'\'northgoing wall\'\' continued throughout the trench, with the same construction, but wider 1.50-1.60m. Immediately west of the wall, in the corner where it meets the crosswall (see p. 201 ), plaster (burnt?) appeared in sizeable chunks. From grid H and westwards scattered small stones were mixed in with tiles and eath, at a level above the walls. A stone formation of large stones run in a live from grid A1 to G2, at a level ca. 30cm above the level of the crosswall. When these stones were cleared it became evident that the cross-
wall is slightly wider than the width given on p. 201, it is 1.20m - 1.30m. The continuation of the wall going north through trench T S1 was slightly difficult to trace; the stone formation right in line with it has the same construction but a width of at least 1.55m. The narrow strip between this wall and the edge of the trench produced plaster, sherds (some of which bucchero) and one file painted with a meander pattern in white. 4 boxes of tiles were dumped.
Finds: 1 rosette in G2 + fragments Banquet frieze C1
T1 AM In order to follow the length of the \'\'northgoing wall\'\' a new trench was laid out along the side of T1 AL, measuring 4x3m. See plan
. The ground slopes rapidly through the trench, and stones were seen sticking up in the ground. Topsoil was taken off. It produced 1/2 box of tiles and one piece of banquet frieze.Descriptive Attribute | Value(s) |
