A.M.

Grids V-W/54 were taken down to roughly 80 cm below surface.  Some stones were encountered in this cut, but little else.  Work continued in V-W/53 to bring these grids to 70 cm.  Pockets of plaster were encountered frequently.  Tile fragments, when found, were kept in situ.  No "tile fall," per sey, has been encountered.  Carbonized wood continues to show up as well.  V-W/52 was taken down to roughly 70 cm.  Large pieces of plaster, which preserved rounded sides, were found.  These pieces were probably under cover tiles at some point.

P.M.

V-W/51-52 was brought down to 70 cm.  A fragment of a ridgepole (?) was found in W/52.  Little terracotta or pottery came out of this cut.

V-W/53-54 was cleaned further in an effort to level off the area.  Tiles were lifted, as were stones.
