In CA42N work continued excavating the "feature."  A new locus was designated, locus 14, since at the depth 135 cm b.d the soil became more dense and clayey with less carbona dn much smaller quantities of material.  Also numerous white inclusions similar to those present in the pale yellow sterile soil were observed in locus 14 soil.  About 1/2 latte box of pottery and bone were found, including fairly large portions of vessels in many fragments, possibly joining to the vessel parts excavated several days ago.  A large pithos rim fragment was found in meter N13 W9, as well as several small tile fragments but no plaster.  Special finds included a large orange ware loop handle and orange ware rocchetto.  Depth for today was around 145 cm b.d.  Work also continued in CA42 in preparation for sectioning the well by cutting back into the baulk on both sides of the exposed wall about 15-20 cm.  About 40% of the entire wall excavated to the present depth( around 260cm b.d) is exposed and has a cylindrical shape.  Several more pieces of terracotta were exposed within the wall, and one small fragment came out of the impacted between the stones soil.  Exposed width of the well is around 110 cm.
