Daily Log

July 1, 1972

After the last of the stony soil stratum was removed from Extenstion II ( see p. 14 ), the earth was cleaned from the wall foundations and work began on the brown earth stratum.

A heavy concentration of tile and pottery was found in Grid 4B.  Some large bones were also found.  In Grids 2C, 2B, and 1C, pieces of a brazier were found preserving both round and diamond holes.  These pieces perhaps are from the same brazier as Find #2.  Heavy carbon deposits were found in Grid 2C around and on top of a large flat stone.
