Cassette of tile: 2 (60% plaster)

Boxes of pottery: 2 1/2

The topsoil cut in grids gamma-epsilon/55-57 was finished. A good amount of tile and plaster was found. The pottery uncovered in this area is mainly coarseware. More large terracotta chunks - some very large and with finished surfaces - were discovered along the outside of the northern row of column bases in gamma/55-57. A few were lifted, but the remaining chunks will be worked around and left "in situ" if at all possible.

A second cut - down to just above "floor" level - was begun in this area. The soil, which was relatively fine and soft, was filled with small plaster bits. Very little pottery was found in this cut - which measured down to 40 cm.
