daily log

30 July 2015

AM

The workday commenced in Locus 5 using hand picks and trowels to carefully lower the level of the trench. The soil remains yellowish-brown and clay-like, with a few small roots scattered throughout the locus due to the large stump in the northeast corner and the datum tree located in the southwest corner. Once the soil was broken up it was hand sorted into buckets.

During clearing a potentially diagnostic body shard was recovered.
