STRATEGY: 1. Define 1529: is it a robber's trench? 2. Continue excavation of 1527. Begin 1528 (below) if there is time.

SUMMARY: 1. 1529 does appear to be a pit-like structure in the place where stones are missing from f607. To be planned. Finds include bone. 2. Completed yesterday's spit of 1527. Some grindstone finds (see sketch), then began 1528 beneath, which has different soil, much more clayey and with charcoal patches. To finish a 5cm spit across the trench will be taken tomorrow. Finds included pot, bone and flint. Aims for tomorrow: To photograph hearth tomorrow and plan this, as well as the pise wall and other possible walls.
