Agger 9

Section B

A meter cut on either side of the EW

crosswall was taken in orderto isolate the crosswall. On the outside (ie southern side) up the wall is a concentration of very large rocks. This is probabaly a reinforcement of the agger similar to that at the NW corner of the complex. For the time being work was stopped on this side in order to follow the wall. Found: covertile frag with letter - rho?, 2 boxes of tiles.

Section C

The NS wall was cleaned down & exposed except for the angle where it meets the EW crosswall, because this section is covered with large stumps which will be removed later. The NS wall is 1.2 - 1.3 m wide.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
