Continued defining around stones in H/47, finding yellow-brown soil with very little tile, plaster, and pottery. Baulk cleaning in I/44-45 produced only a few pieces of tile and pottery.
Work in meters H-I/46 progressed to the east at an approximate depth of 90 cm. Soil remained yellow-brown and material was infrequent (but with some flakes of shell and a couple of bronze).
Continued moving east in meters H-I/43-42 to define the extent of the stone concentration in H-I/44-45. Some stones were picked up in H/43 and the soil in the eastern half was a more medium brown than the earlier reddish-brown soil. Recovered 1/2 a latte box of pottery and bone, 1/12 a cassetta of tile, and numerous bronze flakes. Among the bronze were finds #1 & 2, a bronze tack and a possible portion of a nail shaft.

P.M.
Moved west in meters H-I/47, with soil being yellow to yellowish brown. Rock concentration seems to thin at the western end of the meter. Leveled to an approximate depth of 95 cm. Very little tile or pottery.
Moved east in H-I/46 with yellowish-brown soil, little tile or pottery, and find #4, a large amorphous piece of bronze. Also in this meter was find #5, a fossilized shell.
Continued defining around rock concentration in H-I/44 to a depth of approx. 90 cm. Discovered find #3 in H/44, 1/2 a rocchetto with an S-shaped stamp.
Worked east in H-I/43 to a depth of about 90 cm, finding a few more stones which may be connected to the stone concentration in H-I/44-45. Still finding some tile (about 12-15 fragments), about 1/2 a latte box of pottery, and several bronze flakes.

- H/44
- depth 86 cm
