Tesoro Complex 5

[For previous work in T-5 see TG I 1967 p. 123-144 ]

In continuation of the work in Complex 5, a new trench 5E was laid out measuring 10 m EW and 18.30 m NS (see map on opposit page).  It included a 5.0 x 3.0 m section of the eastern end of 5B.  To help pinpoint find locations, a grid system was established, as shown on the map - the trench is divided into square meters, and a leter and number used as rectangular coordinates for each square.

On the first day, the section from A-C and 6-10 was taken down to the level of 1AF and digging began on the section D-J/1-2.  At H1, a fragment of horse race frieze was found ( 19680902 ).  Tiles were generally worn; about seven boxes were dumped.

Editorial Note

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.

The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
