STRATEGY: Continue removal of 2019.
SUMMARY: Consistency and content of 2019 very similar to 2014: hard, brown clayey loam mixed with pise and plaster rubble with moderate frequencies of ceramics and bone, low frequencies of lithics. The quantity of stones ranging from fist-sized or smaller appears to have increased and sherds size to have decreased. Bone preservation continues to be reasonable, with a large fragment of a scapula and a horn core being removed. The edges of the pit remain constant to present depth. On largish carbone sample (8) taken adjacent to north baulk. Currently 2019 is considered to extend both parallel to and beneath 2018. While this makes the matrix more difficult to conceive, it reflects the probable stratigraphic relationships. 2018 probably represents ashy debris tossed into a low corner of the pit, both atop and adjacent to extent fill of 2019.
