This morning excavation began with closing photos for Locus 2 and the declaration of three new loci; Locus 3, Locus 4, and Locus 5. Locus 3 will be the area that encompasses the drainage opening of the Archaic wall and extends to the southern baulk, measuring -------. Locus 4 will be the extent of the trench to the west of Locus 3 and Locus 5 will be the extent of the trench to the east of Locus 3. Excavation will be conducted in this manner in order to separate materials and soil and create a clear designation between what may be found within the immediate area of the drain and what may be found outside the immediate area of the drain.
While the new loci were being photographed for opening, it was decided that it would be prudent to photograph the current area of excavation using a drone so excavation will be halted until these photos can be taken.
