Work began by scraping down the trench, moving from the feature in the west ot the east, in order to see if the feature continues. More tiles were found to the east, however only 3 lie flat and there are no traces of mortar on these 3 tiles. Furthermore, other tiles uncovered lie at various angles and are not in line with the mortared stones and tiles. While scraping down the trench, a piece of red slip pottery with a raised lump was uncovered (Find #1). Additionally, a piece of ridged pottery was found (Find #2).

The floor of hte trench continued to be scraped down and levelled using trowels, in sear of the new, hard, claylike soil. However, in the southern portion of the trench, while scraping down the floor, two different types of hard packed soil, one whitish yellow and the other red, were revealed, just east of the mortar-like element of the feature. These two hard packed soils resemble a burnt surface of a hearth. Furthermore, it was decided to remove some of the looser tiles in the center of hte trench, in order to better see the feature; the removed tiles all porjected at different angles and are not level like the other elements of the feature. After removing these tiles, a third
cut stone block was revealed in the middle of the trench. Although this third cut stone block is not in line with the other cut stone block, it is oriented the same. Elevations were taken.
