Quite a bit of bone was recovered this year, although significantly less than CC-7 Ext. produced last year. As we would have expected, the majority of bone, murex and antler finds occurred in the midden fill layers ( Locus 1 and 4 ). In these layers, the bone can be associated with chronologically dateable pottery from the same layer, which dates to the early to the middle of the seventh century.
Consistent with last yearÂ’s midden fill excavation, this year produced a notable amount of
butchered bone and some worked bone (catalog numbers listed below). Uncatalogued bone finds included a bone bead and larger bone finds (including a jawbone).
