AM
Excavation began in Locus 4 with pick passes moving from east to west. The remainder of the tile from the tile deposit was removed. Soil is gradually becoming less compact and lighter in color. Tile and pottery present in the locus.
It was decided to clarify the stratigraphy of the area and to see what lies beneath Locus 4 . To this end we will section from the east wall two meters west. We will continue to call this Locus 4 until a soil change or other material dictates otherwise.

Work continued sectioning Locus 4 .
Much tile and pottery is present.
A very dark soil is abutting a lighter brown soil, we are removing the dark soil that lies above it.
When this is complete we will declare Locus 5 in the section.
