In Grids 1D-F and 2D-F, the stony topsoil was removed to within 20 cm of the east wall.  One man was then instructed to clean up to the wall.  At the same time, excavation of the brown earth stratum in this area began.

Upon excavation of the brown earth stratum in Grids 1D-F, 2D-F, it was found that there were some heavy concentrations of carbon, especially in Grid 2D.  It was among this carbon that finds 1, 2 were found.

As in the previous trench (3D-F, 4D-F), there were occasional deposits of yellow earth.  The pottery was generally coarseware with occasional piece of bucchero.  Only two pieces of painted pottery were found.  Some pieces of plaster were also found.
