Work began by lowering the western 1/4 meter of the trench and the apparent circular depression. it appears that the soil is consistent both within and outside of the depression. Locus 9 was opened and represents this depression. Locus 9 will be troweled down to discover the nature of the visibly rockless soil. Locus 9 opening elevations are:

Within the circular ridge of rock:

NE: 29.93 meters absolute elevation

SE: 29.92 meters absolute elevation

NW: 29.89 meters absolute elevation

SW: 29.90 meters absolute elevation

Center: 29.94 meters absolute elevation

Ridge of rock:

NE: 29.90 meters absolute elevation

SE: 29.96 meters absolute elevation

NW: 29.99 meters absolute elevation

SW: 29.95 meters absolute elevation

The diameter of Locus 9 is 83 centimeters in the North to South direction and 80 centimeters in the East to West.

There is a high concentration of terracotta in the North East corner of Locus 8 . Also, more bone ws found in the middle northern meter of the trench.

Within the circular depression, smaller rocks were found covering the entire surface 5-7 centuimeters beneath the initial excavtion.

The trench was scraped and cleaned and photos were taken of Locus 6 , Locus 8 , and Locus 9 . Closing elevations were also taken:

Locus 6 Closing elevations:

NE: 29.81 meters absolute elevation

SE: 29.87 meters absolute elevation

NW: 29.93 meters absolute elevation

SW: 29.93 meters absolute elevation

Center: 29.92 meters absolute elevation

Locus 8 Closing Elevations:

NE: 29.91 meters absolute elevation

Center: 29.97 meters absolute elevation

Locus 9 Closing Elevations:

NE: 29.87 meters absolute elevation

SE: 29.85 meters absolute elevation

Locus 6 is the rock feature in the north of the trench before Locus 7 extension. Locus 8 is the rock feature and soil beneath locus 7 top soil. Locus 9 is the circular depression of soil within locus 8.

All loci were closed for the season.
