Since the locus was open yesterday afternoon, opening elevations will be forgone till tomorrow. A pick pass was done across the entire trench. Soil was shoveled into buckets and sorted at the wheelbarrow. Locus 2 is a clay-like yellow-brown soil; it contains rocks and roots from the trees. Worn and eroded tile and pottery are found throughout the trench. The second pick pass turned up worn terracotta and there was no change in soil or inclusions. During the 3 ^rd pick pass across the trench a carbonized seeds was found while sorting at the wheelbarrow (special find #1). More carbonized seeds were found so we began collecting the seeds in a small container. Right before lunch the ridge between CB 60 and CB 57 was leveled. A small piece of slag was found during sorting (SF #2).

During a 4 ^th pick pass 2 pieces of slag were found in the eastern meter (special finds # 3 and 4). Once the 4 ^th piece was found during sorting so we began to bulk find the slag in a latte box. At the start of the 5 ^th pick pass a soil change was noticed. The 5 ^th pick pass was completed in an attempt to expose the soil change across the trench. The new soil is a darker and more clay like soil similar to the soil found in Locus 4 of CB 57.
