Tile II

Pottery I

June 6, 1980

A.M.

Work began slowly with hammers and mestalina in grids EE-10, 11 but this proved to be unproductive once again.  It was decided to complete this 1st cut over the entire trench to bring the floor level to ~25 cm.  This was done with picks and shovels.  However, working in a southerly direction, tile was struck in meter HH-9 and then in HH-10.  Because ivory was found right above the tile by M.Caras in T23-1979 Extensions, ( MC II, pg. 183 ), work was slowed with hammers and mestaline.  Bronze slag and the following finds were uncovered after work slowed.

P.M.

Workers continued with hammer and mestalina in grids HH-9,10.
