Continued work removing the dark brown carbon-included soil and defining the edge of the pinkish plaster, as well as leveling the area north of the plaster in order to expose the floor of the orientalizing structure. In the course of this work, the large pantile was further defined and sevearl small sections of covertile were also exposed. A number of small stones (10-11 cm) were also defined, immediately north of the plaster concentration but they were also combined with bits of tile and pottery.
As this work will continue in the afternoon, tile and ceramic quantities will be recorded at that time. But it should be noted that two fragments of painted pottery were discovered this morning.
Levelling efforts continued in the area of the trench north of the pinkish plaster layer (Locus 33). The floor was lowered to approximately 80 cm b.d., further defining the tile sections.
Today's work in Locus 32, the darker, carbon-included soil, produced 2 full latte boxes of pottery and bone and 1/3 of a cassetta of tile and plaster, including a number of both pan and covertile sections which were set aside in order to determine whether they join to any of the other tile fragments still in situ. Also found were a bucchero strap handle (#3), a ridged impasto rim (#4), and a bucchero tondo fragment (#5).
Work was begun trimming the baulks. This work produced 1/4 of a latte box of pottery and bone and 8 small bits of terracotta.

Open Context editors work with data contributors to annotate datasets to shared vocabularies, ontologies, and other standards using 'Linked Open Data' (LOD) methods.
The annotations presented above approximate some of the meaning in this contributed data record to concepts defined in shared standards. These annotations are provided to help make datasets easier to understand and use with other datasets.
