A pick pass was made in the southern half of the trench, ½ m from the southernmost trench line towards the center of the trench.

 

Locus 2 appears to be consisting of a large quantity of stones, 5 cm or smaller. This pick pass does not seem to be pulling up much terracotta or pottery.

A bronze disc that might have raised markings on it was recovered while cleaning up a pick pass.

 

40 liters of sorted dirt were obtained from the southwest corner of the trench for floatation of debris and further lab testing.

Medieval pottery fragment (rim?)

A medieval piece of pottery was discovered in the northwest corner of the trench. It has a portion of white and teal glaze preserved upon the surface.

 

A pick pass was made from the southern boundary of the trench towards the center of the trench.

A pick pass was made from the center of the trench towards the northern boundary of the trench.

 

Cleaned up area surrounding larger roots in the trench.

 

Using clippers, we cut small roots.
