July 24, 1987
The western baulk of T-22 was scraped down roughly 10 cm in preparation for a section drawing. D-I were completed. A rocchetto was found in F/54 at 30 cm, the level of a tile fall visible in the baulk. This tile rests on top of a yellow, sandy layer and below a dark brown layer.
Rock pack in L/55-R/56 was cleaned and photographed. Tiles on these rocks were then lifted.
L-N/54 was brought down to ~135 cm level. Soil in this cut revealed heavy burn layer. Roughly two tall latte boxes of pottery were filled.

Soil and tiles were lifted from rock pack L-R/56 as in AM. 130 cm level (T-22, 140 cm) continued into P/54. Burn layer was evident in cut. It appears at this point that the burn layer seen in T-22 extends into this area (although at a slightly deeper level).
~3 1/2 latte boxes found of similar materials to previous day's cut. (4 1/2 with morning). ~1 cassetta of tile and plaster.
Northern end at T-22 cleaned further. Unexcavated soil in A/53-4 yielded several creamware pieces and 1 larger grayware fragment. ~1 small latte box pottery.
Rockfall in D-E/54-55 continued to be excavated. Some tile revealed amid rocks. Lateral sima cavetto found there.
